Kenya Masai Mara

Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya – 2006. Masai Mara National Reserve is almost straight West of Nairobi on the border with Tanzania. It is the northern extension of the Serengeti Plans. It is primarily savannah and has a high density of wildlife (and tourists). We spent two nights in the Reserve and did a number of game drives and took a morning hot air balloon flight.
This was a family of elephants, there were 12 in total, including 4 babies.

It was very difficult to see this leopard because of the tree branches and leaves. It’s head is in the centre of the photo.

This was the same family of elephants that we had seen earlier. We were able to get closer to some of the young ones this time.
